Unique Features

Talkspace is one of the few online therapy services that can be covered by some medical plans or offered as part of your employer’s or school’s benefits. This makes their services even more affordable than before.

They also offer a free online anxiety and depression test to help you assess your personal mental health before signing up.

This well-known online therapy service has a new spokesman, Michael Phelps. He admits to having to deal with anxiety and depression, even while winning the gold medal for swimming in the Olympics. This helps to broaden the awareness of how widespread mental health issues are, even when the person seems to be successful.

Talkspace strives to be affordable and convenient for anyone who could benefit from therapy.

Therapy Methods

Talkspace offers three different methods of therapy. They are text messaging, audio, and video chat.

Text messaging: This method of therapy allows you to write down your thoughts and questions as you come up with them. No need to wait for your therapist to be online. They will generally answer twice a day and can give you guidance and advice while they are there. You can always go back and reread your conversations to help you think things through even more.

Audio: Some people just aren’t natural born writers. It is easier for some to express themselves and their deep feelings by talking it out. You can record and send an audio message to your therapist if that is what works for you. Your therapist can also send an audio message back.

Video: Depending on your plan, you might have the option of having live video chat sessions. This would need to be planned in advance, so you want to make sure you set an appointment with your therapist. This could be the most effective form of therapy for some. You can still send video messages whenever you choose but you won’t be live.
